Winter Art Show Showcases Children's Art - Jan 30

The Stratford Arts Guild and the "Art and the Artist Program" of Stratford present "A Winter Art Show," showcasing children’s art work from ages two to 12 on January 30th at 5 p.m.

All work is created at the studio of Sally Head, lead teacher and founder of "Art and the Artist," a Stratford-based children’s art program that connects literature with art.

Literary Inspiration

Ms. Head uses illustrations from picture books and then demonstrates to her students various techniques to replicate the artwork in the book.

For older students in the advanced artist program, Ms. Head introduces various artists from around the world and then demonstrates through direct line instruction how the children can recreate various paintings.

“I believe that all children can create art and make beautiful artwork, as long as they learn the skills to create what they envision,” says Ms. Head.

The "Winter Art Show" will be Thursday January 30,  5 p.m. to 7 p.m at Roger Salls Studio, 80 Ferry Blvd., #106, Stratford.

All children’s artwork will be for sale. Light refreshments will be served. For more information please contact Sally Head at 203-673-8809.

Ms. Head is a member of the Stratford Arts Guild.
