Stratford Residents Welcome to Participate in Park City Sportsfest

The 6th annual SportsFest takes place today from 1 to 5pm in downtown Bridgeport. Heated tent will be stationed at the corner of Frontage Road and Main Street.

The Park City SportsFest presented by People’s United Bank returns to Bridgeport as part of the 2011 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships festivities. The 6th annual SportsFest takes place today, Saturday, March 5, from 1-5 pm in downtown Bridgeport. 

ParkCity SportsFest is a free event designed for family fun. The fan festival includes interactive and educational activities from an assortment of sports and fitness related organizations. Already committed to participate are the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, The First Tee youth golf, Martial Arts Spirit Academy and Simone Lima’s zumba program.

This year the venue will be a large, heated tent that will be stationed at the corner of Frontage Road and Main Street. Music and entertainment will also be part of SportsFest, and food vendors will be on site.

As in past SportsFests, sports personalities will be signing free autographs. This year’s participants will be announced soon.

Sponsors of the event in addition to People’s United Bank are: Stamford Hospital’s Orthopedic Institute and AT&T. The event is also supported by the Downtown Special Services District.
