Stratford CAPT Scores More 'Proficient' Than State

The 2011 Connecticut Academic Performance Test scores reflects progress for Stratford 10th-graders, albeit short of a state-defined goal.

Stratford 10th-graders beat the state average in "proficient" Connecticut Academic Performance Test scores in 2011, but are lagging behind in respect to their state-defined "goal."

In all four CAPT disciplines -- Math, Science, Reading and Writing -- Stratford scored above the state average in proficiency, which is defined under No Child Left Behind as an indicator that students are making "adequate yearly progress."

However, in all but Writing, Stratford scored below the state's average in the "goal" category, which corresponds to a state-defined target for academic performance.
