Family, Friends and Neighbors- Program for Home Childcare Providers

Stratford Parents’ Place (SPP) is reaching out to families, friends or neighbors who provide child care in their homes for young children other than their own.    Many Stratford children in their birth through preschool years are in the daily care of family friends or neighbors.  Stratford Parents' Place is offering programs and services for this important group of people through the Family, Friends and Neighbors Project.

One component of the Family, Friends and Neighbors Project is the Provider/ Child activity session on the first Friday of each month, starting on September 7, 2012, and ending on June 7, 2013, from 10 - 11:15 a.m. These sessions focus in literacy and include arts and crafts projects, playing with educational toys, snack, story time, as well as music and movement.  During these sessions, providers meet informally with a Parent Educator to discuss topics of interest.

SPP, a family resource center, is a program of the Stratford Public Schools, located at Stratford Academy/Johnson House, 719 Birdseye Street.  All programs and services are for Stratford residents and are free of charge.  The United Way of Coastal Fairfield County provides funding for the Family, Friends and Neighbors Project.
