Early Dismissal Today for Stratford Schools

Snow before 3 p.m. is forecast to change to rain and sleet as the evening approaches.

Stratford schools are under an early dismissal Monday due to impending inclement weather forecast to bring snow, sleet and rain to the area.

A message on the school board's website tells residents to "refer to your school's early dismissal schedule." That schedule can be viewed here.

In addition, "All afternoon activities, including evening high school and continuing education are canceled."

The National Weather Service has Stratford under a Hazardous Weather Outlook. The forecast for Monday follows:

  • Today: Snow likely before 3 p.m., then rain, snow, and sleet. High near 34. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Tonight: Rain and sleet before 9 p.m., then a chance of rain between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m., then a slight chance of drizzle after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
