First Aid Gives Pets a Second Chance: Free Program for Kids

Children are invited to a fun-filled humane-themed program teaching kindness, citizenship, fairness, respect, responsibility and integrity.

On Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., children in grades 4-6 are invited to the , 225 Beacon Point Road, to participate in a fun-filled program designed by the Humane Society of the United States and presented by the Stratford Animal Rescue Society to teach age-appropriate, standards-based academic skills and major character concepts -- kindness, citizenship, fairness, respect, responsibility, and integrity -- while reinforcing those ideas as they apply to our treatment of animals.

On this day children will get a tour of the animal control facility and will learn basic animal first aid techniques and demonstrate them on stuffed animals.

The program is free with a donation of pet food. Participants must be pre-registered. Register here: www.stratfordanimalrescue.com
