Phase 2, identified as State Project Number 138-226, will be completed by the Department. It will consist of expanding the existing 122 space, north side of the Stratford Railroad Station parking lot, to 322 spaces.

This project will also include the acquisition of the two adjacent properties that will be incorporated into the redesign of the parking lot.

It is anticipated that construction for Phase 2 will begin in spring 2013 and will be completed in the late fall 2013.

The project cost is estimated at $5.8 million and will be funded with State funds. Under Phase 2, the completed 124 Phase 1 parking lot located south of the tracks will serve as temporary parking until the project is completed.

A future Phase 3 project will consist of constructing a new 247 space lot south of the tracks and east of the proposed Phase 1 parking lot. Construction cost is estimated at $3.5 to $4.5 million.

All work will be performed while the station is still in operation.

The Public Informational Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning these proposed projects.
