Stratford WIC Office Scheduled to Open!

Accepting new Applicants

 Stratford, CT- Residents of Stratford and Bridgeport who meet income and other requirements can obtain nutritious food, nutrition education, and Breastfeeding Support through the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program of Optimus Health Care, Inc.

 Over 7,000 people in 7 areas currently participate in the Optimus Health Care WIC Program. Women who are pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, infants under one year of age and children between the ages of one and five are eligible to receive WIC benefits. In addition, participants must have demonstrated medical or nutritional need for the benefits and must meet certain income guidelines. For example, a family of four with an income of $821 a week ($42,643 a year) or less would qualify.

 The Optimus Health Care WIC Program serves residents in Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Monroe, Easton, Fairfield, and Stevenson. The Main office is located at 1450 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. A second permanent office is located at 1020 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Satellite office is operated one day a month at the following location: South End Community Center, 19 Bates Street, Stratford, CT.  The office will be open every third Tuesday of the month starting in August.
