Senate
Linda McMahon (R): A Quinnipiac University poll shows McMahon with a three-point lead in the Senate race.
Chris Murphy (D): Murphy’s campaign continues to criticize McMahon. A statement released earlier this week questioned McMahon's stances on social issues.
"Connecticut families deserve to know: will Linda McMahon join her party and vote in favor of the anti-choice, anti-birth control leadership if she is elected to the Senate?" said Taylor Lavender, spokesperson for the Murphy campaign. “If she won't commit to voting against anti-choice, anti-woman Republican leaders like Mitch McConnell and Roy Blunt, then a vote for Linda McMahon is a vote to end a woman's right to choose and to end legal birth control."
3rd District
Rosa DeLauro (D) joined Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in a year after Tropical Storm Irene devastated the coastal area. The area is still rebuilding.
Wayne Winsley (R) is opening his campaign headquarters in Stratford on Friday at 6 p.m.
The country needs a break from the bad policies that helped lead us into the economic mess in 2008, and it begins with keeping those candidates who will take us back to Bush-era policies out of office. How has Linda McMahon shown us that she will work for the people of CT and to seek compromise rather than obstruction for the betterment of this country? We've seen an unprecedented 241 filibusters in the Senate since President Obama was sworn in. What will McMahon do to stop that obstructive force under a minority leader who's stated goal was to block legislation so as to ensure the President doesn't win another term? At this stage of McMahon's campaign, Women's issues, minorities and those making less than the 1% look to get the short end of that stick if she wins. Let her use some of that war chest to show us otherwise.
But what could be expected? He never held a real job or created a real job in any of the 57 states he visited. Harvard no less. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence know why his records fom Occidental, Columbia & 'arvard are under lock.
His last "budget" was voted don by 100% of both houses of Congress. HELLO - there are alot of Democrats among those 435 votes counted. (I think it 435)
you must know that Mr. Obama is rich, right? and you must know that he hangs around with the Hollywood elite, right? and you also must know that recently he held a fundraiser at the home of Harvey Weinstein in Westport, at $ 38,000 a plate, right? So I'm going to ask you a question, This president is associating himself with the richest 1%, so don't you think this is just a little hypocritical? Why is he taking money from these people? Oh yeah, I forgot he's running for president,so that"s ok. And you also said the GOP adopted a skunk? policy that has defeated his budgets four years ago, Wrong again. Your Illustrious Mr. Obama had 2 years in his first term as president, where he had both the House and Senate and did "NOTHING". And his bills to bring outsourced jobs home is another "Lie". He has now wasted 5,000 jobs on the Chinese to build a bridge in California at a cost of 2 Billion Dollars. He has hired Chinese engineers and workers, Non Union ,I might add, to build this bridge. So I would suggest that you come a little more prepared before you blast Linda McMahon and Mitt Romney for being rich. What about this Murphy character, who has missed 85% of his meetings in Washington, I do not want a person like that in Washington who is supposedly representing the people of Connecticut, do you? You Democrats really amaze me,If you are going to speak ,please back it up with some truths.
President Obama may have become wealthy, but he (and Warren Buffett, for instance) favor returning to the progressive tax rates and Pay-Go policies that gave the nation surpluses. I have no problem with rich people who are not greedly-rich going into politics: FDR, the Kennedys, Bill Gates, Richard Blumenthal, etc. Mrs. McMahon is simply unqualified and appears to entertain delusions of grandeur. In answer to your comment, how many hearings has she ever attended? Has she ever even watched C-Span?
Oh, and again you are just a tad off base with the Kennedys.Obviously you are still a little wet behind the ears by not knowing how the Kennedys made their money, Go and check how Joe Kennedy made his millions. I would have to say, Dirty Money.,Check it out Clockwork it's on line. Like I said before back up what you say. Linda McMahon is qualified and will win in November, Independents will carry her. She is leading by 4 points right now,and if Mr Murphy is so good why is he not far enough ahead. He attends few meetings, he doesn't go to Washington.
On the other hand, Mrs. McMahon has no record of public office at all. She loaned her campaign $7M in hope of getting a $7M tax break on top of the huge tax break that gave her millions of dollars to spend on politics. I would say she is interested only in public office as a service unto herself.
