Campaign Notebook: 'Left and Right' Attack Murphy

Senate

Linda McMahon (R): The candidate's camp blasted an editorial in the Norwich Bulletin that criticized McMahon for refusing to meet with any newspaper editorial boards. Campaign manager Corey Bliss wrote in a letter that she's refusing to meet with the newspapers because, "she has chosen to run a grassroots campaign that involves taking her message directly to each and every voter."

Chris Murphy (D): A story in the Hartford Courant reports on how Republicans and Democrats seeking the Senate are both criticizing Murphy in the election.

3rd District

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro, along with colleages U.S. Rep Joe Courney and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, planned a press conference to "highlight the urgent need for Congressional action to prevent the interest rate on subsidized Stafford student loans from doubling on July 1."

Wayne Winsley (R): On Facebook, Winsley said he is meeting with the delegation from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations in Hartford. The federation of unions is the largest in the United States.
