Stratford Woman Nabbed for Beer, Meat

Linda Coover, 49, was charged with sixth-degree larceny for the alleged incident last week.

A 49-year-old Stratford woman was arrested last week for allegedly trying to steal beer and meat from the ShopRite in Stratford.

Linda Coover was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police said she walked out of the store without paying for a 12-pack of Budweiser and "two packs of meat" on the afternoon of Nov. 6.

Coover was released on a promise to appear for a court date on Nov. 20.
