Stratford Firefighter Retires after 30 Years of Service

Lt. Bob Spiegel had his last shift Thursday. 'A job well done!' says his son, Nick.

After 30-plus years of dedicated service to the town of Stratford, Lt. Bob Spiegel had his last shift at the Stratford Fire Department on Thursday, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

Bob's son, Nick, said the following about his pops: "A job well done! Thank you for your many years of service in the fire department. Have a wonderful retirement! My hats off to all service personnel."

My brother be smiling on the outside...But I am sure he is sad leaving...Im sure he will miss it as well...As we all know its not just a job...Its a way of life...and now he will be missing a big part of his life...I am proud of him...he had a great career...I never heard a bad word about him..and he made it out with his health....
