Police Blotter - Stratford

Enforcement actions taken by Stratford police from March 22 through March 23.

On March 22, while on patrol checking registrations on vehicles, police reported that a black Buick traveling on Main Street was being operated with a suspended registration. The car was stopped at Main Street and Longbrook Avenue and the operator, Matthew T. Keane, 30, of Overland Drive was unable to produce proof of insurance. Keane was charged with operating while under suspension, no insurance, an emissions violation and failure to notify the motor vehicle department of a change of address. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 12.

On March 23, police were conducting motor vehicle checks when a van traveling north on Woodend Road came back with a registration expired. After stopping the vehicle on Woodend and Elm Terrace, the operator, Kasandra Valentin, 43, of Gregory Circle, told police that she owned the vehicle but it was registered in her sister-in-law’s name. She was unable to provide police with a valid registration certificate or proof of insurance. She was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no driver’s license and an emissions violation. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 5. 

On March 23 while on patrol, police observed a green Honda traveling east on Barnum Avenue with no front plate. A further check found that the car’s registration was expired. The operator, Lamorris Kinlaw, 25, of Bridgeport, was charged with failure to display a front plate, failure to renew registration, operating without insurance and an emissions violation. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 5.

On March 23 while on patrol, a driver at the intersection of Booth Street and California was observed without a seat belt. After making the stop, it was discovered that the registration was expired and suspended due to no insurance. The operator, Christine Nazaire, 23, of Bridgeport, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating with a suspended registration, no insurance and a seat belt violation. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 5.
