Stratford fire and police officials -- as well as a HAZMAT crew -- are currently trying to contain a fuel spill behind the BJ's on Ferry Boulevard.

The spill was caused by a collapsed crane at the Moses Wheeler Bridge construction site, according to Bill Hansen, president of the Stratford firefighter's union.

Hansen said there have been no reported injuries.

It's unclear how much fuel has been released. WTNH News 8 tweeted that the fuel is spilling into the Housatonic River.
