Cops: Dissatisfied Customer Breaks into Home of Mechanic, Robs Him at Gunpoint

A 23-year-old Stratford man was charged Tuesday for allegedly breaking into the home of his mechanic and robbing him at gunpoint.

Thomas Pierelli of Elm Street faces charges of first-degree robbery and home invasion with a dangerous weapon after police said they apprehended him at an apartment in Derby.

According to the Connecticut Post, police said Pierelli was dissatisfied with the work of his mechanic so he went to the man's home on Sept. 7, confronted him with a silver handgun and demanded money. Police told the newspaper Pierelli fled with $75.

Police told the Post that the altercation started with Pierelli accusing the mechanic of lying about what needed to be fixed on the car. When the mechanic defended his work, Pierelli pulled the gun, the Post reported.

An arrest report said Pierelli was unable to post $150,000 bond.
