Bronx Woman Slapped with $219 Littering Fine

The following arrest information was supplied by the Stratford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Stratford police handed a 28-year-old Bronx woman a $219 littering infraction last weekend for tossing a small plastic container on the ground at a local gas station.

Marina Martinez threw "an empty plastic yogurt or baby formula container" on the ground at the Irving Gas Station at 2000 Barnum Ave. before she got into a car and drove off, police said.

It was the same gas station where, less than a month ago, .

When asked to pick up the trash and dispose of it properly, police said the New Yorker had "a good attitude and was apologetic."
