Arrest Reports Now Available on SPD's New Website

The Stratford Police Department recently unveiled a new website, though ideas are still 'bouncing around' on how to make it better and more transparent, says a Stratford police lieutenant.

The Stratford Poice Department recently launched a new website that will continue to be developed in the coming weeks.

"We are in the middle of morphing things now with a new computer system," says Stratford police Lt. Frank Eannotti.

Some of the site's current features: news and press releases, access to online accident reports, crime prevention and safety tips, a history and numerical breakdown of the department, and a message from Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour.

"The men and women of the Department who serve and protect you on a daily basis are proud of their accomplishments and hope this site will provide you with an overview of our operations," Ridenhour writes.

"Only thru an open exchange of information can we better serve our citizens," he continues. "Our ultimate goal is to constantly keep this site updated with the latest information that may be of interest to you. We want you to visit the site often."

Eannotti said other departments with larger cities already have an online presence. He said in addition to arrest reports outlined in press releases, police reports that before were only available via printout will soon be accessible online, calling that "a priority."
