Abducted 4-Year-Old Boy Found Safe [Updated]

An Amber Alert for New York and Connecticut has been cancelled.

Update at 4:20 p.m. Nov. 16:

The boy has been found safe and the Amber Alert has been cancelled.

The original report follows:

The Marlboro, NY Police Department has activated the New York State AMBER Alert and is investigating a confirmed child abduction that occurred on Western Ave., Marlboro, NY at about 9:20 a.m. on Friday.

According to Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance, New York police requested that the alert extend into Connecticut as the abduction took place near the border.

The vehicle has been identified as a red two-door hatchback sedan 1989 Honda Civic with NY blue and gold version license plate, number FHX9276.

The suspect was last seen traveling north on Route 9 West.

The child, Frederick McCluskey, is described as a white male, approximately 4 years, 9 months old with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 4 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds. Frederick was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. He has a small scar under right eye.

The suspected kidnapper is the young boy’s father, Frederick McCluskey, a white male, approximately 27 years old with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

According to police, the elder McCluskey allegedly abducted the child using physical violence following a physical domestic altercation. He has also reportedly threatened to harm child and himself.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Marlboro Police Department at 866-NYS−AMBER or dial 9-1-1 to provide information on a report or sighting.
