Obituary: Lou Ellen Pettersen Edwards, 81

Lou Ellen Pettersen Edwards, 81, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at home.

Born in Bridgeport to the late Fred and Helen (Christy) Pettersen, she was a lifelong Stratford resident.

Lou Ellen and her husband Fred were the owners of Fin N Feathers in Stratford. She was retired from Industrial Marking Supply, where she was a office manager.

She was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies girls basketball team and a loving, devoted mother and great friend.

Survivors include her beloved children, Debra Jaime of Arundel, Maine, Sharon DelRe and her husband, Raymond of Stratford, Darren Edwards and his fiancé, Deb Ciquera of Bristol, and her sons, Anthony and Matthew, and Scott Edward of Hamden, five grandchildren, Brian DelRe and his wife Jessica, Gregory DelRe, Jennifer Grayeb and her husband Brendan, Cari Edwards and Alexandra Jaime; two great-grandchildren, Julia and John DelRe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lou Ellen was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Kaelyn DelRe, and a brother, Fred Pettersen.

Friends may greet her family on Sunday, April 14, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place in Stratford, with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
