Obituary: Jozel Cywik, 66

Jozef Cylwik, age 66, of Stratford, the beloved husband of Teresa Czaplinski Cylwik passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

Jozef, a self-employed contractor, was born in Boguszewo, Poland, to the late Michal and Adolfa Cylwik and has been a lifelong Stratford resident.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Erik Cylwik and his wife Christina of Trumbull, Daniel Cylwik of Stratford and Renee DiMatteo and her husband Antonio of Stratford, five cherished grandchildren, Aleksander, Lukas and Katryna Cylwik and Thomas and Michael DiMatteo, a twin brother Kazimierz Cylwik of Poland, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and 11 a.m. in St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may greet his family on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
