People’s United Bank branches and Stop & Shop supermarkets in the Greater Bridgeport area will augment the efforts of the 2011 Barnum Festival and the Bridgeport Rotary Club to collect non-perishable food items through the month of June.
Every year, the Ringmaster’s Family to Family Food Drive collects non-perishable goods, as well as cash donations for area families in need. All food items and cash donations are given to local food banks.
In addition, on June 24, there will be a gala food drive on the bank’s outdoor plaza in the front of the 850 Main Street building. The Road Show, a musical group that is part of the Barnum Festival, and the Park City Pride, alumni drum and bugle corps, will perform at the June 24 event.
