Two Showings of The Great Gatsby at the Stratford Library

The Stratford Library’s “Friday Night Movies” and “Monday Matinees” series continue with a screening of "The Great Gatsby" on Friday, December 13 at 7 pm and Monday, December 16 at noon.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as literary icon Jay Gatsby in this vivid and adventurous adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel. Fascinated by the mysterious, affluent Gatsby, his neighbor Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) bears witness to the man’s obsessive love and spiral into tragedy while his married cousin, Daisy (Carey Mulligan), also falls under his spell.

Movies in the library series are shown uncut on widescreen in the Stratford Library Lovell Room beginning at 7 pm (sharp!) on December 13 and noon on December 16.  For the evening showing only, complimentary snacks are served and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Library doors open at 6:30 pm – no one is admitted once the movie begins.  Patrons should use the Main Street entrances.  For the “Monday Matinee”, doors open at 11:30 am.  “The Great Gatsby” is rated PG-13 and runs 125 minutes.

Free and open to the public. For further information, call the library at 203.385.4162 or visit its website:www.stratfordlibrary.org.
