Festival! Stratford Ready for Round Two

This weekend Festival! Stratford will be held on the grounds of the Shakespeare Theatre. Last weekend was the Festival's first weekend and a wonderful success! I am a member of the Stratford Arts Commission, Stratford Arts Guild and the Festival Planning Committee.

I put my hat in all these rings because the town has such potential in terms of the Arts. The Festival is overflowing with all kinds of art. The Arts Guild is holding an art-show in the lobby of the theatre. The programming of the Festival showcases theatre arts from many different theater companies, musical performances, Broadway actors, and magic show.

I love being involved with promoting the Arts and artists in Stratford because I am a mother of five young boys and I want them to appreciate everything life has to offer. Art is all around us and even if they don't grow up to be artists, they need to have exposure to the arts and culture to be well-rounded adults.

For the past 3 years I have also been the "Festival  photographer." I love capturing the images of the actors as they perform, the audience as they laugh and gasp and people having a great time! This past weekend I shot photos of the theater tours, the art show, the performances and the grounds. What an exhilarating experience!

I wish everyone in the town would come down to the theater and come see at least one performance and come see the inside of Stratford's wonderful theater. People are reminiscing and sharing stories of growing up with the theater. Whether you are from Stratford or just passing through, the festival is a wonderful time for everyone.
