State DEEP Issues Air Pollution Alert for Saturday

Environmental officials warn against prolonged exposure or exertion outside because of high ozone levels.

Hot, humid weather conditions today in and across Connecticut, which , have prompted the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to issue an air quality alert.

According to the Connecticut Post, the alert will be in effect until 10 p.m. tonight in Fairfield and New Haven counties because of high atmospheric ozone levels.

The DEEP warns against prolonged exposure or exertion out of doors for all children and adults, and especially for those with lung disease or asthma.
