Petition Drive Advocates More Shoreline Access
Chris German said shoreline towns restrict public access for non-residents.
Former resident Christ German, who with the motto "No Child Left Ashore," is circulating petitions demanding more public access to Connecticut’s shoreline.
According to a Stratford Star article this week, German said he is pursuing 10,000 signatures urging the creation of five public access points to allow Connecticut residents greater access to major rivers and Long Island Sound regardless of their income or town of residency.
He said shoreline communities restrict beach passes to residents or charge non-residents a higher fee, which limits affordable access options for those not fortunate enough to live in those towns.
