Nor'easter Forecast to Drop 3-8 Inches

Overnight snow is forecast for both tonight and Thursday.

Another winter storm has its sights on Stratford.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service are forecasting a nor'easter to drop 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight Wednesday, and then again overnight Thursday.

Stratford can expect to see between 3 and 8 inches before the system leaves the area Friday.

Here's the complete forecast for the next few days, according to the National Weather Service:

This afternoon: Rain. High near 42. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: Rain before 7 p.m., then snow. Low around 32. Breezy, with a north wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow likely before 4 p.m., then rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Windy, with a north wind 23 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday night: Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all snow after 7 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Blustery, with a north wind 18 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday: Snow likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a north wind 18 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Friday night: A slight chance of snow showers before 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 43.
