DOT Lets Bridge Work Resume on Monday

Construction on the Moses Wheeler Bridge on I-95 was suspended following a crane accident last Saturday.

Work will resume Monday on the I-95 Moses Wheeler Bridge replacement project in , which was halted this week following .

The Connecticut Post reported that state Department of Transportation officials would allow construction to resume Monday after the contractor, Walsh Construction, allow its employees to attend safety classes conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The mishap last Saturday was the second crane accident this year, a 40-foot-tall reinforced steel cage collapsed on Dec. 22, and other deficiencies have been discovered that could threaten job safety.
