Sterling House is happy to announce its 2013 Rug Hooking courses offered this winter. Classes are scheduled to run for six weeks. Classes will be on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. They will begin on Jan. 8.
Benita Raleigh is the instructor, and she has a studio in Norwalk. She taught rug hooking for a number of years. Benita is a member of Traditional Rug Hooking and is the immediate past president of the Goodwives Rug Hooking Cheaper of the ATHA. Annually she attends the McGown Teachers Workshops, a highly esteemed organization that is dedicated to training rug hookers in the art of teaching this craft.
There is a $60 fee, and current Sterling House membership is required. Materials can be purchased from the instructor. Rugs will be available for viewing at Sterling House.
