Sterlng House Launches Rug Hooking Courses this Winter

Info regarding Sterling House's January 2013 Rug Hooking Courses

Sterling House is happy to announce its 2013 Rug Hooking courses offered this winter. Classes are scheduled to run for six weeks. Classes will be on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. They will begin on  Jan. 8.

Benita Raleigh is the instructor, and she has a studio in Norwalk. She taught rug hooking for a number of years. Benita is a member of Traditional Rug Hooking and is the immediate past president of the Goodwives Rug Hooking Cheaper of the ATHA. Annually she attends the McGown Teachers Workshops, a highly esteemed organization that is dedicated to training rug hookers in  the art of teaching this craft.

There is a $60 fee, and current Sterling House membership is required. Materials can be purchased from the instructor. Rugs will be available for viewing at Sterling House.  To register please call 203.378.2606. Adult Rug Hooking Classes will be held at the Sterling House Community Center, 2283 Main Street, Stratford.
