The Sterling House Community Center is excited to announce this fall’s launch of the Adult Rug Hooking courses. Classes are scheduled to run for six weeks on Tuesday evenings between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The first class starts on September 18th.
This year’s instructor is Benita Raleigh, who manages the Fancywork Rug Barn in Norwalk. Benita has taught rug hooking for a number of years and is a member of Traditional Rug Hooking and was recently the President of the Goodwives Rug Hooking Chapter of the ATHA. Annually, she attends the McGovern Teachers Workshops, which is a well regarded organization dedicated in training rug hookers in the art of teaching the craft.
The fee for the six week course is $60.00 plus current Sterling House Membership. Materials can be purchased from the instructor. For more information, please contact Ray O’Donnell, Program Director at (203) 378-2606 Ext 110 or by email at RO'Donnell@sterlinghousecc.org.
