Prior to the project construction, Aptar Stratford utilized warehouse facilities located in Trumbull which required delivery of goods between Trumbull and Stratford.

Not only was the Trumbull warehouse operating with energy inefficient equipment, the transfer process resulted in wasted carbon emissions and fuel.

Seeking ways to save energy, Aptar Stratford enrolled in the Energize Connecticut Energy Conscious Blueprint program.

UI worked with the company to design a warehouse that incorporated high efficiency rooftop air conditioning units, high efficiency lighting and occupancy sensors, an energy efficient furnace and high efficiency battery charging units to charge forklift batteries, which take less time to charge and therefore make operations more efficient.

UI also secured a $38,975 incentive payment for Aptar Stratford from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund for completing the project.

Energize Connecticut programs help you save money and use clean, affordable energy.

The programs are a partnership of the Energy Efficiency Fund, the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority, and your local electric and gas utilities and are funded by a charge on customer energy bills.
