'Flippin' for Di' Pancake Breakfast on April 28

We are sponsoring a flippin' good pancake breakfast on behalf of an amazing, 5-year-old member of our preschool family, Diane Langguth, who was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a form of pediatric liver disease, at 45 days of age.

Biliary Atresia has no known cure, and Diane will require a liver transplant in the near future.

On April 28, will sponsor a pancake breakfast, "Flippin' for Di" at the Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford, to help raise funds to help offset the medical expenses that Diane's family will incur during her battle with her disease, and I would like to ask you to participate.

When Diane was first diagnosed, she had her first life saving operation called the Kasai procedure. Diane had a nasogastric (NG) tube placed at 6 months to assist with feeding. At 20 months, her first G-tube was surgically placed followed a few months later by her second. This tube allows for supplemental feeding, which helps her to maintain weight and receive additional nutrition that her body demands.

She has had several hospital stays, and two bouts of cholangitis, which is one of the more common complications associated with Biliary Atresia. This year alone, Diane has missed over a month and a half of school due to illness and hospitalization from liver related complications. She spent her 5th birthday in the hospital, and was released just days before Christmas (with a PICC line).

Please support Diane by participating in the SUMC "Flippin' for Di" pancake breakfast to be held on April 28th at the Stratford United Methodist Church from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is sure to be a fun, family event. In addition to Chip's Pancakes sponsored pancakes, we will have a bounce house, face-painting, music and a silent auction.

The Fairfield and & Departments will be on hand to help out and offer demonstrations to the kids.

Ticket prices for the breakfast will be $20 per family and $5 per person. We are in need of monetary donations as well as auction items and supplies for the breakfast. All proceeds will go directly to a bank account that has been established for Diane's medical expenses, and your generous contributions (including the cost of breakfast tickets) should be considered gifts to an individual.

While NOT tax-deductible, every donation will make a difference in Diane's life. Checks should be made payable to Diane Langguth.
