Readers' Choice: Who's Got the Best Pizza in Stratford?

This week we ask readers where the best pizza in Stratford is.

There is a plethora of choices in Stratford in which to order a pie from.

Two of the more recent places to set up shop in town are , which opened only two months ago, and , which opened last summer.

Our inaugural "Readers' Choice" contest kicks off this week with a hunger for pizza. In addition to Fat Sammy's and Siena, here are some of the town's other pizza offerings:

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. We will announce the winner Friday afternoon.

If your pizza place is not included in the poll, we'll add it if you include the name in the comments.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once in the survey.

Paradise is my FAVORITE, I enjoy their pizza at least twice a week. I had a breakfast pizza made for Christmas morning and it was spectacular!! Can't wait to order one for Easter!

I have never experienced anything like the Cheeseburger Pizza at Paradise. It truly is a remarkable creation. In my opinion Paradise is the only pizza place in Stratford.

Do yourself a favor and order a large house special at Paradise. You will not be disappointed.

Sounds like you only have Paradise Green residents on here! I'll have to spread the word on Facebook because VILLA PIZZA on Barnum Avenue is HANDS DOWN, the best pizza in town! And I know pizza as I grew up in the Bronx! Nothing else in town comes closer to NYC style pizza! I'll rally on my side of town to tip the scales a bit!

Capodicci's is the best !!
Robyn Greenspan February 27, 2012 at 10:11 PM
The only way to fairly judge pizza is to include a Sicilian slice in the competition. On those terms, Villa Pizza most closely replicates my neighborhood Brooklyn pizza place!

Paradise Pizza is making its trend on twitter! Paradise has been a Stratford landmark for 43 years and nothing can be compared to their pizza! I mean there is a reason why Paradise has been open for 43 years...its because of their best. Plus, the owners are wonderful people and my experiences every time my family goes there is great!!

I can't pick a side---I'm a frequent customer of several of the places listed. But I do have to add a WRITE-IN -- Stanziale's!

Who's got better pizza than Paradise? Noooo-body!!!

Being the best pizza in Stratford is like being the tallest ... I don't think I should go there. If you folks want great pizza, hope in the car and head to New Haven - Pizza Capital of the world.

Capodicci's is by far the best. I eat there frequently and love it. The staff is great and always friendly.

Aré we talking about good thin crust, cheesy, well cook crunchy pizza.. Let's not go that far but fat Sammy's pizzeria has all this three magic things for a good pizza. They use the right elements. To perfect a good thin crust pizz. But if we talking about cardboard taste like pizza let's starting picking from the list above..
Joeys February 28, 2012 at 01:14 AM
Fat Sammy's calzone reminds me of a good old real italian pizzeria in Brooklyn. And the pizza is very thin crust and crunchy. The meat-packing is so good..

Here's another vote for Paradise Pizza! The worst pizza I've had was from the new Little Ceasers. I don't even know if I spelled it right and I don't care. If you want good pizza at a good price and a family friendly atmosphere, Paradise Pizza is the place to go!

Ah, and I thought I had everyone accounted for. I'll add Stanziales to the list and poll now. Thanks, Kevin.

Fat Sammy's pizza is my vote. The pizza is soo yummy and the garlic knots are amazing. Try the Arthur Ave pie if you like chicken cutlet also!

Fat Sammy's pizza is my favorite place near here. They use delicious ingredients and make the best pies bar none.
Andrew Teixeira February 29, 2012 at 04:46 AM
By the way...if your looking beyond the pizza...the grinders from Fat Sammy's..with fresh rolls from the bronx..are worth the trip alone. (Especially for that bread OMG)

Hmmm, I'm more a 'Philly Pie' aficionado; not a fan of the Greek Pizza/thin crust variations (I love the Sicilian garlic pie at Arcudi's for example), so for 'doughier' crust, good toppings and decent Italian sauce I'd suggest Bella Napoli, Casa Nova (Shelton) and the place that used to be in the Dock (name escapes me). Vazzy's on Main Street makes a good pie too.

Has anyone on this list had a Salerno's plum tomato pie special in the month of August? If you haven't, you haven't lived.
Jason Bagley (Editor) February 29, 2012 at 07:57 PM
I'll admit I have not tried it, but I did make sure we had an article on their plum pie: http://patch.com/A-ls94

Villa Pizza!! It is the best in town and the staff is awesome too.
Eric Kovach March 01, 2012 at 10:54 PM
Cheeseburger pizza from Paradise Pizza is phenomenal!! Nothing like good ole' Paradise Pizza
Bobby Pleasure March 01, 2012 at 11:38 PM
Fat Sammy's is a great pie. Although I was a little dissapointed that Sammy wasn't fatter....

Who cares? We get 50 comments from people on pizza but only a dozen comments on critical items like borrowing money for the Theatre, town/state budget issues or education issues. Just shows you what the people in this town think is important or pay any attention too. I am going to go heat up the Big Y frozen pizza in my fridge now, Mmmmmm!
Kip Steele March 02, 2012 at 04:14 PM
Cheeseburger Pizza -- you have to try it at PARADISE PIZZA! A slice of heaven every time!
Jason Bagley (Editor) March 02, 2012 at 06:16 PM
And the winner is.. http://patch.com/A-rrsD
