Stratford Community Services is opening its doors to residents for information, support and assistance as individuals and families continue to grapple with the Newtown elementary school mass shooting.
Counselors are available Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Birdseye Municipal Complex, 468 Birdseye St., Stratford.
Counselors are also available by appointment weekdays through 8 p.m.
"In the wake of the Newtown tragedy, counselors will be on hand this week to address questions like 'How do I respond to my child's questions?' or 'I'm feeling out of sorts and I didn't even know anyone involved,'" states a release from community services, which has been providing local children and their families counseling services for more than 30 years.
