Puppy Pit Bull Abandoned in Stratford

Incident happened at about 8 p.m. Monday, a resident tells Stratford Patch.

A motorist on Broadbridge Avenue Monday night abandoned a puppy pit bull after stopping near the intersection with Success Avenue and letting the dog out of the backseat, a resident tells Stratford Patch.

“I never witnessed anything more heartbreaking,” Justina Manko, of Broadbridge Avenue, wrote in a Facebook message to Patch.

“The puppy was wagging his tail for him to let him back into the car and the (man) drove off,” Manko wrote.

She said the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Monday. She described the driver as a “light black male” and the car as a navy blue Volkswagen Golf.

“The puppy is extremely well-trained, loves to lick you, is full of love and such a big baby,” Manko wrote. “It’s a boy and he isn’t fixed yet.”

She said her neighbor has the dog now.

“I just feel like I don’t know if he was stolen and the guy dropped him off or if he got into a fight with his girlfriend," Manko wrote. "I just want to see if anyone lost a dog.”
