Stratford Mayoral Candidate to Make It Official

Democrat Joe Paul will formally announce his candidacy Thursday.

Democratic mayoral hopeful Joe Paul will formally announce his candidacy for mayor of Stratford Thursday at Shakespeare Theatre, 1135 Elm St., at 12:30 p.m.

“I’ve spent the last few months going around town, talking and listening to people in Stratford,” Paul said in a statement. "I keep hearing the same refrain: Stratford needs a fresh face in Town Hall.”

Paul's campaign describes their candidate:

Joe Paul is new to politics but not to government. Paul brings nearly 40 years experience in the private sector where he worked with state and local governments, helping them operate more effectively for the people.  A prime example was when he put in new, more efficient processes for the state of New York. This resulted in tax refund checks getting sent out quicker and cost savings for the state.
