Cops: Man Snatched FedEx Package from Stratford Doorstep

Trio arrested for alleged theft on Cutspring Road Friday.

Stratford police Friday nabbed a man and two apparent accomplices who allegedly tried to make off with a FedEx package snatched from a Cutspring Road home doorstep.

Police said a detective working a traffic assignment in the area of Cutspring Road observed a man walk up to the house, pick up the box and leave in a Pontiac.

The detective followed the car to Paradise Green before a short pursuit ended on Shepard Street, police said.

The driver was identified as Antonio Randolph, 46, of Bridgeport. Police said Randolph attempted to conceal his identity by giving officers several false names. It was determined Randolph had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a prior larceny charge in Stratford, police said.

For the alleged FedEx delivery heist, Randolph was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and reckless driving. The Bridgeport man was held in lieu of $20,000 bond and is due in court on Nov. 26.

The man who allegedly swiped the package was identified as Darius Miller, 42, also of Bridgeport.

Miller was charged with sixth-degree larceny and failure to have prescription medications in a proper container. He was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and is also due in court on Nov. 26.

Police said Margaret Little, 35, of Stratford, was in the car throughout the incident. For that she was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and was released on a promise to appear in court.

The contents of the package was valued at $159, police said.

With the holiday season upon us, police are advising residents to be cautious with deliveries to the home.
