Oliver has a bachelor's degree in business management and is a freelance photographer for The Orange County Register. He received an honorable mention at the California JACC competitions in 2009 for news photography and California State JACC competitions in 2011. He is an alumni of Sport Shooter Academy VII with a Nikon Sponsorship lead by USA Today's Robert Hanshiro. His portfolio and application was selected from among other photojournalist applicants across the nation.
