Congrats on the new cars, our Police deserve them, they look like a nice upgrade to the aging fleetRead More they currently have. The turnover rate for Police cars is incredible, we need to remember the Police are on patrol 24/7, these cars rack up the mileage a lot quicker than the fire trucks or ambulances they sit in wait......

Chevy sells the Impala and Caprice in Police Models (between 27k and 31k) but both have only a highRead More output V6, Ford Police Interceptor has a V6. Not a lot of research was necessary. I think they should just admit they wanted the big V8 and it was way cooler looking.

But I wouldn't trust that lady alone with Bella. I sure hope Mr. Novotny has started taking Bella toRead More daycare, his work, or a trusted caregiver - and never leave her home while he works.

It is....but why were BOTH CHARGED with the GUN? Did you go to Stratford High or Bunnell?
Marcus April 12, 2013 at 12:39 am
Greg, I think you are right. Neither claimed it they both get tagged. Now comes the important partRead More of the process, the prosecution. This is where we often fall short. Good work SPD.
Chris Stevens April 11, 2013 at 10:49 pm
Way to go SPD!

A guy had marijuana on campus a few years ago, was told not to come back, came back 3 years later toRead More pick up a friend. Why is this even a story?
OpportunistWatch April 11, 2013 at 12:53 am
What a joke. Fairfield University students are some of the biggest marijuana drug users in the area.Read More Many businesses make big money off these students who get big "living expense allowances" or party and food money between studying thats why nothing is really done about it. Fairfield beach Reef Rd area has dealt with Fairfield U. students parties and drug use for years. The parties were so bad the school had to shut them down a few years ago.

there's a similar scam reported at http://www.callercenter.com/620-705-1991.html where the callerRead More used a different phone number to call the victim. It was 620-705-1991 but it's basically the same script. These scammers must be making a lot of money for them to afford paying for a large phone bill.

Noticibly absent reporting of the content of the mental health related items ie. medical documentsRead More and prescriptions. I surmise that we will eventually find that he had documented mental health issues and was taking medications (or should have been) that may have altered his perception and subsequent actions. Unfortunately, these things will not reported on until well after the legislature has rushed to enact measures without a clear understanding of the root causes of this horrific incident and without this understanding and information, I fear that what they are about to do will have little actual impact on public safety.

All: A statement from Stephen J. Sedensky III, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District ofRead More Danbury, clarifies what several readers have pointed out as factual inaccuracies contained in the court documents. Sedensky's statement reads, in part: "The released search warrants were obtained on December 14, 15, 16, 2012, within a short time of the shootings. Subsequent investigation revealed that shootings took place in two of the classrooms, not three, and that the shooter was not wearing a bullet-proof vest, nor was he a teenager." The full statement may be found at the following link: http://www.ct.gov/csao/cwp/view.asp?a=1801&Q=521714 Given this information, I have corrected the article so that it now accurately reflects the facts as provided by authorities. What medications did they take from the house? The key to the break is what drugs he was on (or hadRead More stopped taking). You've released warrants and such for the guns and books and computers... now release the rest.

Rose B, I am glad you want us to wait for our permits. Remember that when your taxes go up becauseRead More the $17 million in increases is coming out of everyone's taxes. I hope you have a smug look on your face when you feel superior as you foot the bill. By the way I did not go out and buy a gun in the wake of Sandy Hook nor have I bought a gun since it happened.
Rose B May 7, 2013 at 04:32 am
Good. Make them WAIT for their permits to clear. Fewer idiots with guns the better. And let's faceRead More it, anyone who went out and bought a gun in the wake of Sandy Hook IS an idiot.

LEGALLY SPEAKING, LT. VANCE IS BEING HONEST. THERE ARE NO PUBLISHED OR ESTABLISHED QUOTAS, HOWEVERRead More IT IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY ALL STATE TROOPERS THAT REVENUE FROM SPEEDING TICKETS AND OTHER MOTOR VEHICLE INFRACTIONS IS MONITORED CLOSELY AND THEY ARE EXPECTED TO CONSISTENTLY KEEP THE CASH FLOWING INTO THE STATE COFFERS. EVERY STATE IN THIS COUNTRY MAKES SURE THAT THEIR TROOPERS CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THIS UNWRITTEN EXPECTATION.
