The mission of the Stratford Housing Authority is to provide affordable housing to low and moderate income residents and to senior citizens of Stratford. The local Authority was founded in 1943 as a quasi-public corporation overseen by a board of commissions appointed by the Stratford Town Council. The Stratford Housing Authority currently manages more than 500 housing units within the town of Stratford and another 600+ apartments in greater Bridgeport in conjunction with the state of Connecticut.
