Rivaling many of the fine beaches in the state of Connecticut, Stratford's Short Beach features glistening beaches with views of both Long Island Sound and the mouth of the Housatonic River. Short Beach is part of town owned Short Beach Park. Short Beach is a favorite for fishing or kite flying. Picnicking is available at the pavilion on the beach. Short Beach offers beach, sun and surf in the summer and scenic views year-round. It also features several playground areas and excellent bird sightseeing opportunities.
