Maggie Needs a Good Home

Rescue dog is great with kids; this 2-year-old pit bull terrier is great with kids and other animals.

This gentle dog, recently rescued by a Stratford family off the mean streets of New York, is seeking a good local home.

Her name is Maggie and her "foster mother" Agnes Dyro-Leonette, said that Maggies gives "the best 'pitty pecks' around."

She is a two-year-old spayed female American pit bull terrier mix whose rescue owner is "not sure" what she is mixed with, "but it doesn't matter because she is quite a lady," said Dyro-Leonetti.

Maggie is up-to-date on all her vaccines and is on heartworm preventatives and Frontline.

Maggie is  housebroken, adores other dogs, and loves to play with her toys, and agrees that her "nylabones are so cool!"

She is a "Pink Lady" at that, as her favorite color is pink, and she walks in the pink on her leash and harness.

Maggie adores people, kids and cats, her foster mother said. "Yes, she even loves those things that 'meow' at her!"

"She is so sweet.  All she wants is love and give kisses," Dyro-Leonette said.  "She is so good with my daughter and my other dog.

"This is my first time fostering a pitt bull and I'm so impressed with her."

Maggie came from a horrible situation off the streets of New York City, and some "very special Angels rescued her and helped her gain "a new leash on life."

Maggie is everything a pit bull should be and she will make a wonderful companion pet for any family or individual, Dyro-Leonette said.

She would be perfect for an active couple or a family with a fenced-in yard would be great.

Maggie knows  basic commands and would "make an amazing therapy dog," Dyro-Leonette said.

Please consider Maggie to be your "Lady In Pink," who remains "much loved" in her temporary foster home but needs a "forever home with lots of love!"

The new owner would need to complete an adoption application, contract, adoption donation and a home visit.
