Daphne: Adoptable Pet of the Week

This miniature dachshund needs a good home.

Daphne is an adorable short-haired black and tan miniature dachshund. She is approximately 4 to 5 years old. Her family surrendered her with another small dog (who has since been adopted) as they were no longer able to adequately look after her.

Daphne loves her belly being rubbed and would love it if you let her sit in your lap. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and has been microchipped. Daphne would be a great family dog as she loves people, and has proven to be good with children and other small dogs.

To adopt Daphne you must complete an application and be approved. Home ownership or landlord approval required. All members in a household must meet the pet and agree to the adoption.

The fee is $125.00 to adopt pets that have been spayed/neutered, tested for disease, vaccinated and microchipped. These services have been paid for by donations.

All other pets will be adopted through the State of Connecticut Animal Population Control Program. The fee is $60.00 and this entitles the adopter to two free vaccines, and a discount voucher off the cost of spay/neuter.

The new pet will then be dropped off at a local veterinarian and the adopter will pick up the pet and be responsible for the balance. In general, the price ranges from $100-200 and is due upon receipt of the animal at the veterinarian office.
