Adoptable Pets of the Week

Shadow, plus mother cat and two kittens are all available to good homes in Stratford.

Shadow is a friendly black and white female domestic short-haired cat.  She is approximately 2 years old. She was surrendered to Stratford Animal Control as her owner could no longer keep her due to her owner's pregnancy complications. She is spayed, tested negative for disease and microchipped. Shadow can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves to be with people.

Meanwhile, a lovely young calico female cat (approximately 8 months old) and her two sweet orange male kittens (6 weeks old) are also looking for a home. They were found in a shed during a property owner's recent move and were brought to the Stratford Animal Shelter. The mother will be spayed before adoption and they have all been tested negative for diseases. They will be microchipped. They would make a fun-loving addition to most homes!

To adopt the mother and/or one of her sons, of Shadow, you must complete an application and be approved. Home ownership or landlord approval required. All members in a household must meet the pet and agree to the adoption. The fee is $125.00 to adopt pets that have been spayed/neutered, tested for disease, vaccinated and microchipped. These services have been paid for by donations. All other pets will be adopted through the State of Connecticut Animal Population Control Program. The fee is $60.00 and this entitles the adopter to 2 free vaccines, and a discount voucher off the cost of spay/neuter. The new pet will then be dropped off at a local veterinarian and the adopter will pick up the pet and be responsible for the balance. In general, the price ranges from $100-200 and is due upon receipt of the animal at the veterinarian office.
