Stratford Values and Leadership

Stratford residents show what democracy in action looks like - and what real leadership means.

Everyone who spoke at Monday’s public forum at Town Hall showed qualities of leadership.  Some people may have been a little uncomfortable speaking in public, but they did it anyway. They were able to stand up and share their experiences, knowledge and hopes through the strength of their convictions.

And, it wasn’t just the Shakespeare theatre that was talked about.  A group of residents from Bowe Avenue came, seeking relief from the flooding they endure each time it rains.    One fellow came to report on the status of the proposed dog park.

Everyone was listened to with respect and, within the confines of the 2 ½ minute ruling, able to speak.

Stratford deserves, and I think is hungry for, real leadership in its elected officials.  We need office holders who listen, who will engage in real conversations, and who will take care of the people in our town.

Why else should we elect them?
