Stratford Opens Cooling Centers (Map)

Temperatures are forecast to climb into the mid-90s today and high-90s tomorrow.

With heat indexes today and tomorrow, the town of Stratford today announced the opening of six cooling centers.

The cooling centers will be open through Friday for residents seeking refuge from the uncomfortable and potentially dangerous weather, according to Marc Dillon, the mayor's chief of staff.

  • (1000 W Broad St.) 8:30 a.m to 9 p.m.
  • (468 Birdseye St.) 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • (2750 Main St.) 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Huntington Road Fire Station (1415 Huntington Road) 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Lordship Fire Station (20 Prospect Drive) 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Oronoque Fire Station (200 Oronoque Lane) 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
