Guest Speakers Announced for Stratford Library Black History Month Series

To mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s March on Washington, the Stratford Library will take part in the annual, nationwide celebration of “Black History Month” with a film, book and speaker series highlighting the Civil Rights movement in America. Several noteworthy films will be shown in the "Created Equal" series with featured guest speakers including (l-r): Stratford Councilwoman Stephanie Philips, Donald Goodson, Co-Chair of Citizens Adressing Racial Equality (C.A.R.E.) and Author Jennifer Baszile ("The Black Girl Next Door"). Ms. Baszile's moving memoir was the "One Book, One Stratford" selection by the Stratford Library in 2011.
