"What Not to Give Your Mom on Mother's Day" & "Aviation All Stars" at Stratford Library this weekend
Our Children's Librarian, Martha Simpson, will read from and sign her new book on Saturday. Sunday features a talk by the Director of the Connecticut Air & Space Center.
Saturday: The Stratford Library Children's Department will host a special Mother's Day event on Saturday, May 4 at 10:30 am in the Library's Lovell Room. Martha Simpson, Head of Children's Services, will read her new book, "What Not to Give Your Mom on Mother's Day" followed by a craft (for mom, of course!) and refreshments. Signed copies of the book will be available for $13 and proceeds directly benefit the Library. For more information or to reserve a book, call the Library at 203.385.4165.
Sunday: The Stratford Library "Sunday Afternoon Talks" series will present "Connecticut All Stars of Aviation" on Sunday, May 5 at 2 pm. The program, hosted by Andrew King, Executive Director of the Connecticut Air & Space Center, will be held in the Library's Lovell Room and is free and open to the public. Mr. King will lead a panel discussion about Gustav Whitehead, the Experiential Vought Aircraft and the Corsair Restoration. Panel members include Andrew Kosch, who has flown a replica of Whitehead's #21, Chris Soltis, museum curator and Ed McGuinness, Corsair restoration project manager.
