Due to popular demand, the has announced that the CTWorks Career Coach, a career center on wheels designed to deliver career services and training opportunities at a variety of locations throughout Connecticut, will continue library visits through December 2012.
The Career Coach delivers free services to low-wage workers and job seekers in Southwestern Connecticut who are unable to get the services at local career centers due to lack of transportation, childcare or employment schedules.
Visitors to the coach will find computer workshops, 10 computer workstations, high-speed access to the Internet (via onboard satellite), 42" plasma TV with Smartboard overlay (for training use by the instructor), 10 wireless laptops and exterior plasma TV, interview room and an ADA-compliant lift and workstation for people with disabilities.
These workshops are free and open to job seekers 16 year of age or older. Basic computer skills are helpful but not required. First come, first served. Limited seating.
The 2012 schedule is: July 23, August 27, September 24, October 29, November 26 and December 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. each month. The CTWorks Career Coach will be on site in front of the Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, CT.
