“All You Need is Love” is April 27th

Our 10th annual fundraiser has a "Songs of the Sixties" theme

The Stratford Library Board of Trustees will present its annual major fund-raiser for the library on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 6:30 pm.  The tenth annual event entitled “All You Need Is Love” will have a "Songs of the Sixties" theme and is a gala evening of musical entertainment, lavish hors d’ouevres, fine beverages and delectable desserts. All proceeds will benefit the library’s collections.

The evening will feature top-notch entertainment by "GetBackNY", one of the East Coast's foremost Beatles tribute bands.Connecticut native and drummer Mike Streeto portrays Ringo in the band as he has around the world in such shows as "FabFourEver" and "Beatlemania". "GetBackNY" recreates the Fab Four circa 1964-66 when John, Paul, George and Ringo toured and ruled the airwaves. It's not the Beatles, of course, but it's an incredible simulation! In a separate venue, "Something Extra", a women's a cappella group from Yale University, will also perform. Founded in 1977, the group of 16 fabulous women will perform the best music of the popular "girl groups" from the 1960s.

The Stratford Library will be transformed for the benefit to accommodate two special performance areas and 200 guests. A cocktail buffet of delicious edibles, full dinner and fine desserts with an open bar will be provided by David M. Grant Caterers. The Event Decorators of Bridgeport will provide a variety of magical balloon creations and 1960s pop-art for the benefit. Dancing will be encouraged. An expanded silent auction in conjunction with Charity Fundraising Packages this year will include a Napa Valley Wine Country excursion, NASCAR racing experience, autographed photos of Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Depp, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Whitney Houston, tickets to the David Letterman show, Downtown Cabaret, Westport Playhouse and Wadsworth Atheneum and gift certificates for several local restaurants.
