Meet the Artisan: Drew Ann Mingolello

Get to know a few of the artisans you'll see this Sunday at Artists & Artisans in Paradise.

Drew Ann Mingolello

Mixed Media

A resident of Lordship, Drew Ann Mingolello is new to the crafting scene. Her appearance at the recent Walnut Beach Arts and Crafts Festival was such a hit, she sold out and had to close her Etsy shop temporarily while she built up her stock of original window art and driftwood sculptures.

"People are telling me that they haven't seen anything like it," she said. "I really hope I can somehow expand on this. I'm perplexed and don't know how it happened. But I keep my prices in reach. I can’t get into things that are very expensive if no one is going to buy it."

Laid off and hit by the economy a couple years ago, Mingolello went back to school to retrain as a medical assistant but has remained unemployed. In the last year, she crafted her first piece after being inspired by a piece she spotted in a magazine.

"I wanted to try out the medium. I've always been crafty, but this is different. This is definitely my forte.

"I don't know if I am an artist, but I get tremendous satisfaction doing this."

Mingolello is one of the artisans on sale at "Artists and Artisans in Paradise," August 25th at Paradise Green in Stratford. You can see more of her work on Facebook.
